NHS PRIMARY CARE ENTRY LEVEL EMPLOYABILITY PROGRAMME 
HOST AN INTERN AND SHAPE THE FUTURE OF THE NHS WORKFORCE!

As part of a project aimed at enabling underrepresented groups to access healthcare careers, SWL Training Hub & SWL ICS has developed an employability program and is eager to collaborate with Primary Care employers.

This program includes one week of classroom training followed by a two-week Internship in a Primary Care setting. The face-to-face training modules will cover essential competencies for front reception and administrative roles, such as customer care and communication skills, telephone handling, conflict resolution, Safeguarding, and more.

 

We are currently seeking employers to host the two-week internship. Participating practices will receive a £300 grant to support supervision backfill.

We expect these placements to help participants gain experience and understanding in the following areas:

  • Meeting and greeting visitors

  • Receiving telephone calls

  • Supporting back-office administrative functions

  • Booking patients for appointments

  • Using Emis and other clinical systems
