Course Dates Please note when you register for this event you are registering for all three dates. Day 1 - Tuesday 4th February 2025- 08:45-16:00. Day 2 - Wednesday 5th February 2025 - 08:45-16:00 Day 3 - Tuesday 4th March 2025 08:45- 13:30 Course Overview Day 1 - Tuesday 4th February 2025- 08:45-16:00.
- Oral medication revision
- Assessment for initiating GLP-1 receptor agonists and the PITstop GLP-1 care pathway.
- Introduction to insulin and the insulin devices, injetion technique, case studies practicing insulin reviews.
Day 2 - Wednesday 5th February 2025 - 08:45-16:00
- Working through the PITstop insulin care pathway, including self-management insulin triration.
- Introducing insulin regimen changes.
Day 3 - Tuesday 4th March 2025 08:45- 13:30
- Reflecting on progress
- Understanding carbohydrate awareness for people with insulin
- Additional practice altering insulin regimens
An accredited course with Greenwich University: students can work to gain 15 credits at level 5 (diploma). PITstop meets the NICE education criteria for insulin initiation (NICE,2015) and is recognised by Diabetes UK, NHS England, SE London Health Innovation Network and is accredited with the RCGP. Criteria to apply
- Clinicians already providing a diabetes service
- Have completed a foundation level diabetes course (including CDEP e-learning)
- Are prepared to embed the skills you learn, with support of a local mentor
- Available to attend the full 2.5 day course.
