SWL Training Hubs are delighted to be working in collaboration with Peak Consulting on Care navigation training | Peak Health Coaching | Sheffield
This introductory session has a broad appeal across all levels of expertise and experience, and is specifically designed for frontline staff. This 3-hour workshop introduces some key, essential skills and person-centred approaches. Participants will be engaged with memorable and practical exercises to stimulate their thinking.
Great person-centred care starts at the front door, and involves the whole team, from start to finish. Care Navigation is a key part of this system. This workshop will introduce the principles of coaching and person-centred care, with a particular focus of their application at the front door as part of Care Navigation.
Objectives of the Workshop
· Engage people in a case for change towards a person-centred approach
· Understand the value of coaching approaches for them and their work setting
· To appreciate the move from “What’s the matter with you?”, to “What matters to you?” and how this underpins a coaching approach.
· Develop personal skills, knowledge and confidence, in having care navigation conversation, based on WMTY and coaching principles.
· Appreciate the value of shared decision making and how to support it.
· Enhance attendees feeling of value and self-worth at work
Who is the workshop for?
This workshop is designed for frontline staff - receptionists, care navigators, health care assistants and support staff.
*This training fits with the ‘essentials’ or ‘Bronze level’ of Care Navigation as described in the 2016 HEE framework. No prior knowledge is necessary, but some preparatory reading will be supplied and will enhance the session.
