About the event
Aims and Outcomes
- Update knowledge of competencies and skills needed to administer the ‘flu vaccine
- · Demonstration of injection technique and administration of intranasal vaccines
- · Identify groups recommended to receive ‘flu vaccine in the forthcoming ‘flu season
- · Develop knowledge of the different ‘flu vaccines available
- · Understand which vaccine should be given to different groups
- · Provide advice for this ‘flu season to patients and their families
- · How to maximise uptake and the safe delivery of vaccines
- · Ensure that their practice is safe and effective
- · Provide accurate and up to date information about the relevant diseases and vaccines to their patient/parents/carers.
- · Support individuals to make informed choices about vaccination
- · Promote public confidence in vaccination
- · Know where to request expert specialist advice if required
- · Deliver a high standard of care
- · Demonstrate competence in vaccine storage, recording and administration
