About the event

This two-hour, online workshop is aimed at healthcare professionals who are keen to enhance their performance and encourage collaboration and inclusive communication in an internationally diverse workplace. An internationally diverse workplace is undoubtedly enriching but it can also bring its own challenges. This highly practical and thought-provoking workshop provides the opportunity to explore these challenges and offers tips and strategies that can be used straightaway. In this workshop, participants will explore how to identify language that may be challenging for individuals who speak English as an additional language. They will practise using language in a more inclusive way, focusing on aspects such as speed, politeness, and tone.  The workshop will also guide participants in developing techniques to facilitate clearer communication during online meetings and phone calls. Additionally, they will examine how cultural differences within internationally diverse groups—such as approaches to timekeeping and scheduling—can influence cohesion and collaboration.  Finally, participants will reflect on the role of language in shaping identity and its impact on staff well-being, equipping them to foster a more inclusive and supportive environment.
