Aims and Outcomes

• Update knowledge of competencies and skills needed to administer      the ‘flu vaccine
• · Demonstration of injection technique and administration of      intranasal vaccines
• · Identify groups recommended to receive ‘flu vaccine in the      forthcoming ‘flu season
• · Develop knowledge of the different ‘flu vaccines available
• · Understand which vaccine should be given to different groups
• · Provide advice for this ‘flu season to   patients and      their families
• · How to maximise uptake and the safe delivery of vaccines
• · Ensure that their practice is safe and   effective
• · Provide accurate and up to date information about the relevant      diseases and vaccines to their patient/parents/carers.
• · Support individuals to make informed choices about vaccination

• · Know where to request expert specialist advice if required
